Path to Shine

Providing after-school mentoring and tutoring for elementary school children, Path to Shine provides a small group setting for 20 children or fewer, with no more than two children per adult volunteer. Volunteers are trained and committed to working with the same one or two children for the entire school year, allowing for healthy mentoring relationships to form. This is reflected with an attendance rate of more than 90 percent by the children. Path to Shine provides a flexible model that can be used in a variety of settings. Currently, there are 12 active programs across the diocese, supporting about 150 children with more than 100 volunteers involved.

Rainbow Village

Since 1991, Rainbow Village has worked to break the cycle of homelessness, poverty, and domestic violence and can attest to the fact that the needs are growing. Rainbow Village’s mission is to transform lives for homeless families in north metro Atlanta through a community-based transitional housing program that promotes self-sufficiency through a comprehensive, educational program over one to two years. From the original duplex, the program has now grown to a self-contained campus with a family service center and is capable of housing 12 families.
