Where are you in relationship to Jesus? If you drew a diagram, where would you be? Beside him? Behind him? There was a soldier who placed himself under Jesus’ authority. Though not a follower of Jesus, he understood power and authority; superior and subordinate. Being a soldier, he trusted the chain of command. He knew that when the superior officer issued the order, all that was necessary to achieve the objective was the compliance of the subordinate! Jesus was “amazed” at his faith. Would he be amazed by ours? Do we live under the authority of Jesus’ words and example?

¿Dónde estás en relación con Jesús? Si dibujaras un diagrama, ¿dónde estarías? ¿A su lado? ¿Detrás de él? Hubo un soldado que se colocó bajo la autoridad de Jesús. Aunque no era un seguidor de Jesús, entendía el poder y la autoridad; superior y subordinado. Siendo soldado, confiaba en la cadena de mando. ¡Sabía que cuando el oficial superior emitía la orden, todo lo que era necesario para lograr el objetivo era el cumplimiento del subordinado! Jesús estaba “asombrado” por su fe. ¿Se sorprendería por la nuestra? ¿Vivimos bajo la autoridad de las palabras y el ejemplo de Jesús?
