Lectio divina is a traditional Christian practice of scriptural reading intended to promote communion with God and increase knowledge of God’s word. It treats scripture not as texts to be studied but as the living word which we read, meditate upon, pray and contemplate.
St. James, Marietta, invites you to begin your practice of a Holy Lent by joining us for a special program exploring lectio divina. We will be led by Sister Madeleine Mary, CSM, Sister-in-Charge at the Community of St. Mary, Southern Province. She will instruct us in lectio divina and provide opportunities for us to put it into practice. A light lunch will be provided, and we will conclude the day with Holy Eucharist.
Ample parking is available in the lot behind St. James on Polk Street. Parking for elderly and disabled visitors is provided in the parking lot accessed from Church Street.
Please register by March 1 by contacting Stephen Windham, firstname.lastname@example.org, 470-564-4974. A suggested donation of $20.00 ($10.00 for students) is appreciated.
