The memorial service for the Rev. Austin Ford will be held at 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Cathedral of St. Philip, 2744 Peachtree Road N.W.
Ford, founder of Emmaus House, died Aug. 18 at 89.
The Grant Park resident was a tireless advocate for Atlanta’s disenfranchised and poor.
“Austin Ford was someone who believed and lived his faith shoulder to shoulder with people from all situations and circumstances,” Robert C. Wright, the bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, said in a statement.
