Bible Art Journaling during Easter: A Pop-Up Art Studio
A workshop for all ages.
Wednesday evenings, April 18-May 2

The church has a long, robust tradition of marking the stations of the cross and Christ’s experience of suffering and death, with both pilgrimage and artistic expression. And yet, how much more mysterious and peculiar is the event of resurrection? We have the Great 50 Days of Easter to make a go of it. In this series, we will take up the less observed tradition of marking the stations of the resurrection. With all the colors of light, we will explore the resurrection stories in the gospels with mixed media to deepen our experience of the Easter season’s Paschal light.

Bible Art Journaling is a mindful process of engaging with art materials to find answers and make discoveries, and gain insights. Art is powerful, freeing, and healing. We will apply this practical wisdom and artistic process to illuminating the pages of our sacred story. Illumination is where human life, art form and experience come in contact with the black-letter pages of sacred script, so the only experience necessary for this class is the living of your own life. Presented by Rev. Ruth Pattison, director of the Community Pop-up Studio for Practicing the Pastoral Arts at Highpoint Episcopal Community Church in Sandy Springs. Sponsored by the Guild of Ten Talents.

This 3-session workshop series is offered free of charge and materials are provided. Please reserve your spot in advance by April 16, 2018. You can register online or by calling the church office, 404-634-3336.
