Every baptized person is called to ministry. EfM is a worldwide program developed by the School of Theology of the University of the South. It holds before us that the foundation for bringing Christ to the world lies in a Church empowered by an active, theologically articulate laity. All Christians need a Christian education which supports their faith and which prepares them to express that faith in daily life.
The Education for Ministry (EfM) program is a wonderful program of study and reflection that provides people from all walks of life with the education to grow in Christian faith and to carry out their ministries. EfM Online offers those who cannot attend a weekly face-to-face group an opportunity to participate in this course of study. Our Online EfM Group #6332 meets online and includes members from the U.S. and other countries. The mentor, Ken Kimsey, is canonically resident in the Diocese of Atlanta.
Group will meet online on Monday, August 28, from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., Eastern U.S. time. for our "soft opening." Formal classes begin on Monday, September 11, 2017. We meet weekly, excluding Christmas and Holy Week, until the Monday before Memorial Day, 2018. Although several members log on from Atlanta, GA, the group is open to anyone suitable to Education for Ministry (EfM) with a high-speed internet connection.
Three openings are available in our Online Group #6332 of Education for Ministry (EfM). Interested prospects should contact the EfM mentor, Ken Kimsey, by August 7, 2017, to discuss enrollment. Formal classes begin on Monday, September 11, 2017, however, members will gather informally online on August 28. The group has been meeting continuously for six years. The mentor began his involvement with EfM in Atlanta in 2000 and mentored two in-person groups at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church in Morrow, GA. The Reverend Barry Griffin, Rector.
Interested students should contact Ken Kimsey by August 8, 2017 via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or phone: 678-468-2072. Class members log onto the Blackboard Collaborate website operated by the EfM program, School of Theology, University of the South, Sewanee, TN. Click here for more info on EfM Online.
