St. Catherine's Friends of Music presents the final concert in their 2016-17 series. Mezzo-soprano Eunjoo Lee-Huls enjoys a rich performing career which embraces a combination of oratorio, symphonic soloist, opera and recitals. She is dedicating this concert in memory of her mother. The title of her concert is an allusion to Robert Schumann’s great lieder cycle, Frauenliebe und Leben. Other offerings will include songs from Carmen, Show Boat, The Barber of Seville, The King and I and more. This season she performs as a soloist in Salon 4: Schumann & Brahms Lieder with New Opera NYC and in Mozart’s Missa Brevis, K. 275 with Westchester Korean Choral Society.
Ms. Lee-Huls received the Bachelor of Music from Chugae Art University, went on to study at St. Cecilia Conservatory in Rome and earned the Artist Diploma (Masters Degree) from Licinio Reficeo Conservatory Frosinone in Italy.
Two of St. Catherine's Concert Series' favorite components are the 'living footnotes,' when performers share their thoughts about the music with the audience, and the post-concert reception, where the audience has an opportunity to meet the artists. A free-will offering will be taken and the public is welcome.
