Join us in Sewanee this April!
Education for Ministry (EfM) invites all graduates to an EfM Graduates Retreat on the grounds of beautiful St. Mary's Sewanee retreat center, April 27–29, 2018. Participants will gather in a Circles of Trust® format to delve into the significance of individual talents as indicated by the Gallup StrengthsFinder® assessment. Elsa Bakkum, EfM associate director for training, will facilitate.
The StrengthsFinder, also known as the StrengthsQuest, was developed by Donald O. Clifton, Ph.D. and built on the Positive Psychology movement. Over 13 million people have discovered language for their individual talents using this tool. Its principles are as follows:
- Each person’s talents are enduring and unique,
- Everyone has talents,
- Each person’s greatest room for growth is in the area of their greatest strength.
During the retreat, short presentations will invite participants to name, claim, and own their strengths for use in ministry. There will be ample individual reflection time, and the level of participation in the Circle of Trust groups will be according to each person's preference.
This event is for all graduates of EfM. Check-in will begin at 1:00 p.m. CST April 27. The program will commence with dinner at 6:00 p.m. on the 27th and will conclude at 11:00 a.m., Sunday the 29th. Commuter rates are available.
Join us for this wonderful weekend of fellowship and discovery!
