We do it all the time. We open the door. We close the door. An everyday ritual that changes everything by the doing of it. Deuteronomy says to write the first commandment—the one about loving God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength—on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. It suggests that there is something innately holy about our coming and going from the house. That opening or closing a door is in and of itself a way of loving God.
In this three-week art studio series, we will explore doorways as holy spaces. Join us on Sunday afternoons, November 5, 12, 19 from 2:00 - 3:30 in the Pop-up Studio for Practicing the Pastoral Arts. Please email Ruth Pattison (firstname.lastname@example.org) by Ocotber 30 to reserve your space. $45.00 for the series.
