Christoph Keller to Preach on ‘Day 1’

The Rev. Dr. Christopher Keller III, dean and rector of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Little Rock, Ark., is the featured preacher Dec. 18, the fourth Sunday of Advent, on “Day 1” with host Peter Wallace, the nationally broadcast ecumenical radio program also accessible online at
Keller has served in parish ministry and as Canon Missioner of the Diocese of Arkansas. In 1991 he started St. Margaret’s Church in Little Rock.

Keller is a graduate of Amherst College and earned his M.Div. from the Episcopal Divinity School, Cambridge, Mass.  He earned a Th.D. in Anglican studies from General Theological Seminary, on whose board he serves. He is also the founder of SUMMA, a student theological debate society for high school students, now based at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tenn.

“Nothing to Dread,” Keller’s sermon for Dec. 18, is based on the lectionary lessons from Isaiah 7:10-16 and Matthew 1:18-25.  “Christmas speaks to the whole world’s anxiety,”  he says. “God has given us a sign.”

The program includes interviews with Keller conducted by Wallace, who is also executive producer.
